Isle of Eigg
Vase planted by Sue Carter & her friend Ed,  October 8, 1999

“I spent about 5 days in the inner Hebrides wandering the Isle of Eigg with my boyfriend Ed, but we didn’t plant the vase until the last day.  There are two high points on the island.  We buried the vase at the end of a rocky escarpment which runs along the edge of the island.  When it is not misty, the location looks out over the main mountains of Scotland and over the ocean and the island of Rum.  The day before we buried the vase, we walked around and saw two golden eagles who live and hunt there.  Often they are seen up high but that particular day, one of the pair flew really close behind Ed.  It seemed like an auspicious sign to bury the vase there.”
