Kashupsa village, Abkhaziya
Vase planted by Dmitriy Leontyev and others, May 5, 2014

“The vase was planted near the village Khashupsa in Gagra region of Abkhaziya, a disputed territory on the eastern coast of the Black Sea and the south-western flank of the Caucasus. Abkhaziya was a central issue of the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict of 1992-1993 and of a full scale war of 2008 escalated between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Georgia.  As the result of Russian military intervention of 2008, Georgia lost control over Abkhaziya. It remains a disputed and unstable territory. ”
