Berlin
Vase planted by Irene Moessinger, May 21, 2000

“The peace vase was used as a foundation object in the building of the Tempodrom, a big events space.  The founder of this building, Irene Moessinger, is a student of Buddhism and her motivation was to consecrate this area in the middle of Berlin (very close to Potsdamer Platz), as it also has had a very difficult history.  The Tempodrom is built on the tracks of Anhalter Bahnhof, one of the main stations for the deportation of Berlin Jews under the Nazi regime.

The small arena inside Tempodrom has also hosted events with several Buddhist masters, including H.H. Sakya Trizin and Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche.”
