Guernsey Island
Vase planted by Julian Engelsman, March 2001

“Despite phone calls to tourist and council departments on the island, there was little progress.  So when I arrived in Guernsey with the vase, I decided it would be better to just go off on my own and discretely find a spot where the vase wouldn’t be disturbed.  I found a place in a heavily wooded bank off the coastal footpath, close to Saints Bay on the southern coast.  The footpath has many old wartime fortifications dotted around.”
