Dead Sea and the Sea of Galilee
Vases planted by Hannah Satz, May through August, 2000

“Let me tell you, it was not an easy task burying vases in Israel!  One went into the Sea of Galilee, and one went into the Dead Sea.  Well due to the salt content, they floated!  Anyway…I managed.  And the other three, that are buried in the earth…listen, I gotta tell you…to dig a hole in the earth in the Holy Land is SO so difficult.  The earth is so hard, so many rocks.  It’s nowhere near as simple as it sounds.  And you have all these uptight people who are totally paranoid and won’t let you bury a peace vase on their land, suspicious and doubting.  it is a very interesting exercise noting peoples’ responses.”
