Issyk-Kul Lake
Vase planted by Andrey Kim on August 14th, 2017

The vase was planted at the Issyk-Kul lake at a depth of 45 meters. Issyk-Kul is an endorheic lake in the northern Tian Shan mountains in eastern Kyrgyzstan. It is the tenth largest lake in the world by volume (though not in surface area), the second largest saline lake after the Caspian Sea and the sixth deepest lake in the world. Issyk-Kul means “warm lake” in the Kyrgyz language; although it is surrounded by snow-capped peaks, it never freezes.
