Windhoek, Namibia
Vase planted by Chamtrul Rinpoche Lobsang Gyamtso, Karen de Vos and Sebastian on October 4th, 2015.

On our first teaching trip to Namibia with Chamtrul Rinpoche, we took a peace vase and buried it in a place Rinpoche thought would be auspicious on a large piece of land filled with wildlife. It is a conservation land and we placed it near a water hole due to the fact that the water hole will probably be there for a very long time and no construction will happen around it hopefully. Rinpoche did many prayers and we joined in with good intentions and OM MANI PADME HUNG. Rinpoche was very happy as were we that we could contribute in this way to world peace. On the way we saw buck, springbok, orex and afterwards we spotted 3 giraffes – mother, dad and baby and a few warthog.

It was the driest season of the year and as we left rainclouds gathered. The following day as we left Namibia there was a powerful downpour of rain, which Namibia was very grateful for.
