In the hills near Port-au-Prince
Vase planted by Gerry Hadden, August, 2002

“The vase was placed in the hills just outside Port-au-Prince, called ‘gwoh-zhan’ phonetically.   The grey haired guy in the photos is a voudou priest who has had Buddhist visitors before.   When I explained the project, he was really psyched, because peace, as you know, is as rare as saffron in Haiti.   We buried it under the floor of his ceremonial temple, a spot he assured me would not be in conflict with local religious practices.  The folks around him are his family.”
