Reunion Island

St. Louis & Piton Tortue
Vases planted by Brigitte Harguindeguy and Fabrice Ilczyn, May 25, 2015

“In Reunion National Park heritage, Unesco is very important.  Normally it’s not possible  to plant anything without an agreement.   St Louis is a city with a lot of violent uprisings from time to time. The vase was planted not far from the place where there have been sacrifices of animals for offerings related to the Indian community. At Piton Tortue, there is an extinct volcano and it’s a place of many legends such as where some slaves fled to hide and it’s also where Indian shamans went to practice.”
