Vase planted by Snezhana Zoriktueva,ViktoriyaRudashevskaya, Anton & Dasha Kuzmin, September 29, 2013

“The peace vase was planted on the auspicious Dakini Day (25th moon day) at the very heart of Lake Baikal, on the south tip of Olkhon Island.  It is the biggest and the only habited island in that region.  Environmentally, Lake Baikal is one of  the world’s cleanest freshwater bodies and many unique biological species live within this precious ecosystem.   The area around the lake needs to be carefully protected and preserved intact for future generations.   Recently,  the area around Olkhon Island has suffered a lot of ecological problems connected with the fast development of tourism and the rise in the local population. For these reasons, we decided to plant a Peace Vase here.”
