Novotroyitsk Village, Volnovahsky district, Donetsk region
Vase planted by Serhiy Romanenko, June 24, 2013

“The peace vase was placed in Novotroyitske village center of the Donetsk region, notorious for open production and processing of ores for chemical, iron, glass and refractory industries.  It is one of the biggest sites of ore production in the Ukraine, totaling up to 4 million tons of raw material and 2.7 million tons of end product per year.  It is heavily polluted by industrial wastes that are extremely harmful to public health.  Life and work conditions of local people are very difficult; alcohol and drug abuse is very high.”
